Manufacturing Meets Monetary Policy: Beth Hammack’s Inspiring Visit to MAGNET
Forging the Future: Celebrating MAGNET's 40th Anniversary
Beth M. Hammack, President and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland, recently engaged with MAGNET's leadership team to discuss the current state of manufacturing and workforce in the region. She toured our state-of-the-art facilities, which include advanced manufacturing technologies and innovation labs designed to assist local manufacturers in improving productivity and competitiveness.
During her visit, Hammack met with MAGNET’s Ethan Karp and Leah Epstein, as well as Jack Schron of Jergens, Inc., to gain insights into the innovative work being done at MAGNET. She experienced first-hand the impact of our school partnerships and Youth Manufacturing Academy, which emphasize experiential learning.
While touring the engineering space, Hammack learned about the diverse range of consulting services MAGNET offers to help small- and mid-sized manufacturers in our region grow. The group also discussed critical programmatic needs for building the talent pipeline, reshaping perceptions of manufacturing as a high-tech career path, and the industry’s significant economic impact on Northeast Ohio.
Hammack's visit to MAGNET is part of her ongoing efforts to connect with various sectors within the Fourth Federal Reserve District, which encompasses Ohio, western Pennsylvania, eastern Kentucky, and the northern panhandle of West Virginia. Since assuming her role in August 2024, she has prioritized understanding the diverse economic landscapes of the district by meeting with business leaders, community organizations, and educational institutions.
