MAGNET was founded in 1984 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission to help manufacturers in Northeast Ohio grow and thrive. Our work helps small and medium-sized manufacturers increase sales, create jobs, develop talent, and achieve cost savings through affordable consulting services focused on technology, talent, and transformation and innovative workforce awareness and preparation programs.

In the early 1990s, MAGNET was the pilot site for the Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) program – a groundbreaking initiative launched by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s National Institute of Standards and Technology – and the organization served in that capacity for more than two decades.
