Celebrating CoachU’s Recent Graduation: Empowering Career Coaches for Success
CoachU proudly celebrated the graduation of a new cohort of career coaches who are now better equipped to guide individuals toward meaningful careers. The ceremony highlighted the hard work and dedication of 12 exceptional coaches from a diverse array of local organizations. These professionals spent the past five months immersed in a comprehensive training program designed to enhance their skills in career coaching, from motivational interviewing to trauma-informed practices.
During the ceremony, each group of graduates had to navigate a real-world situation, providing strategies to support their clients in achieving career success. These exercises reinforced the knowledge gained throughout the program and showcased the practical application of coaching techniques in real-world settings. The case studies involved some of the most pressing topics in career coaching, including:
- Retention Strategies: How to ensure clients remain engaged and motivated throughout their job search journey.
- Personal Career Maps: Helping clients create a roadmap for long-term career growth, identifying the right steps toward advancement.
- Job Placements and In-Demand Sectors: Offering guidance on sectors with the most growth potential and ensuring clients are prepared to step into these roles.
The 12 coaches represented a range of organizations dedicated to workforce development in Cleveland, underscoring the broad community impact of the CoachU program. These organizations included:
- Towards Employment
- Seeds of Literacy
- May Dugan Center
- Salvation Army
- Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry
- Cleveland State University
- College Now
- MAGNET
- El Barrio
- Reach Success
MAGNET launched CoachU because better-prepared coaches help their clients connect with better opportunities, including those in manufacturing.
