MAGNET launches second of four-part series of Blueprint-themed films, names Mspire winners, and shares DoD opportunities with manufacturers.

INNOVATION Watch How NEO Manufacturers Put Innovation Into Action in the Latest Blueprint Mini Documentary   The second in a four-part series of Manufacturing Blueprint-themed mini documentaries premiered last week at the Mspire Networking Happy Hour. As contestants, judges, regional manufacturers and staff gathered to celebrate what was our most successful pitch event yet, the Innovation Mini Documentary played, sharing stories of manufacturing innovation. Featured in the film are Lumitex's spin-off Mureva Phototherapy, which developed a light therapy product to help cancer patients, and Bettcher Industries-launched Exsurco Medical, which created a medical device adapted from its parent company's meat-cutting instrument. Both companies' innovations illustrate the power of creative and customer-centric thinking. View the six-minute film here.        INNOVATION Kudos to the '22 Mspire Event and Winners! Our annual Mspire pitch competition is an inspiration in innovation and creativity every year. Last week's iteration of the 7th annual event, back in person, was no different – complete with innovative product ideas, powerful presentations, industry-experienced judges and a perfectly planned day. While all of the finalists' concepts were great, the judges ultimately selected several winners, including: $15,000 Engineering Design Prize to CLEANR $15,000 Engineering Design Prize to Onedrus $10,000 Engineering Design Prize to ClimbaBoard $10,000 Marketing Prize to Seraphina Safety Apparel Prize of M&T Show Booth to Skuld LLC Read more here.  INNOVATION Present Innovative Ideas to DoD & Military Buyers Through a partnership with GDI, the Ohio MEP is providing scholarships for a limited number of Ohio companies to participate in the TRIAD Program. TRIAD is a 12-month education and advocacy program that helps companies improve access to Department of Defense (DoD) and Federal Agency resources. Participants in the program receive tools, training, coaching, introductions to DoD end-users and the chance to present their technology to a panel of DoD Science, Technology Scouts and Federal Agency Representatives at a TRIAD Pitch Session. The Pitch Sessions are multi-day events that allow TRIAD companies to also ask questions and receive feedback about their innovations. LEADERSHIP Honoring Incredible Leadership Crain's Cleveland Business released their awards for Notables in Manufacturing last week. Three of our board members, Michael Canty of Alloy Precision Technologies, Ron Hammond of GOJO Industries and Ward Dumm of Swagelok Co., were all honorees.
