The vision set forward by The Blueprint for Manufacturing in Northeast Ohio inspires all of MAGNET's work. The Blueprint identifies four pillars, each of which drives our all our efforts: Talent, Innovation, Transformation and Leadership.
TALENT
Blueprint Mini Documentary Screened, Workforce Connect and Manufacturing Leadership Team Honored for Their Talent Development Work
The first in a four-part series of Manufacturing Blueprint-themed mini documentaries had its international screen debut during Towards Employment’s annual Chance to Advance event earlier this month. Focused on how talent development positively impacts our community, the video tells the stories of three individuals and their pathways to manufacturing careers. Watch it here.
Also at the event, the Workforce Connect Manufacturing Sector Partnership and its Manufacturing Leadership Team (MLT) were honored with the 2022 Hometown Hero Award. The award recognizes the collaborative efforts of the MLT, comprising more than a dozen Cuyahoga County manufacturing executives, MAGNET and the Greater Cleveland Partnership. We are grateful to be recognized for our joint achievements in creating innovative workforce on-ramps and career pathways for those who have been marginalized or with limited work experience.
LEADERSHIP
Help Us Create a New Community Space in Hough Neighborhood
As part of its new Manufacturing Innovation, Technology and Job Center, MAGNET is building a first-of-its-kind in the region STEM-themed park and playground. Residents of Cleveland’s Hough neighborhood will experience science through play. Beyond the sensor-enabled hoops and other science-based play, the park features a full playground, bike repair station, native plant landscaping chosen by Cleveland Metroparks, a mural highlighting Black manufacturers and engineers, and more! The building is slated to open in October. Help us raise the funds needed to complete this portion of the project and create a public and community asset.
