MAGNET’s Mike O’Donnell served as the moderator for a panel titled “Climate-Related Risks for Businesses in Greater Cleveland.” With his background in manufacturing and innovation, O’Donnell guided the conversation through critical topics such as supply chain vulnerability due to climate inconsistency, shoreline erosion, and how to sustain power grids during increased and prolonged period of high temperatures.
The panel included industry leaders Paola Bernazzani, ESG Advisory Services - Nature Lead at Stantec; Kristin Susick, Manager of Corporate Responsibility at First Energy; and Doug Mazeffa, Sustainability Director at Lincoln Electric. Each panelist brought unique insights into managing climate-related risks and implementing effective sustainability strategies.
O’Donnell's inquiries into how organizations can integrate sustainability into their core strategies sparked engaging dialogue and practical takeaways. Across the board, all panelists agreed that in uncertain times such as this, it is important to be flexible and able to pivot when needed. Above all else, companies should identify their own north star, and continue to move towards that. The session underscored the importance of collaboration, innovation, and a commitment to sustainability as a strategic priority.
The GCP Sustainability Summit reinforced the critical role that businesses, including manufacturers, play in advancing environmental stewardship. MAGNET is proud to contribute to these essential conversations and to support Northeast Ohio’s ongoing journey toward a more sustainable and prosperous future.
