MAGNET’s first Lighthouse Tour of 2025 took us to Bucyrus, Ohio, for a behind-the-scenes look at a company that’s become a household name without many people knowing it—Diamond Wipes International. On April 16, 25 attendees gathered for a morning of networking, knowledge-sharing, and a firsthand look at automation in action at Diamond Wipes’ advanced manufacturing facility.

Hosted in partnership with Crawford Partnership, the event drew a wide range of local and regional leaders—including LuAnn Cooke from Lieutenant Governor Tressel's office, who joined us to explore how innovation is shaping Ohio’s manufacturing landscape.

General Manager Carl Cole kicked off the tour with insights into Diamond Wipes’ operations, showcasing how robotics and automation are driving production efficiency across their wipe product lines. Attendees got a firsthand view of how modern manufacturing thrives when technology and teamwork align.

MAGNET’s Mike O’Donnell and Janelle Lee also presented, sharing examples of how manufacturers across the region are embracing Industry 4.0—proving that smart manufacturing isn’t just for big-city factories.

Special thanks to the team at Diamond Wipes for opening their doors, and to partners like Greg Timberlake and Lisa Marcum of Crawford Partnership for helping make the event a success.
