Job Summary:

This position will be responsible for supporting the Client Cultivation, Service Delivery and Finance teams in their work with Northeast Ohio manufacturers.  The Engineering Procurement and Contracting Associate will hold primary responsibility for coordinating the contracting process with subcontractors and clients; soliciting quotes for equipment, supplies, and subcontractors; and working to streamline other processes that require documentation and purchasing. This position will work with multiple systems including and Mavenlink to monitor budgets, set up projects, and ensure accurate data entry and integrity.

MAGNET has high ambitions for growth over the next three years, and this will require strong back-end support with sound processes.  Therefore, this position will also require significant collaboration with individuals across the organization to obtain relevant data, troubleshoot emerging issues, and help manage processes.

This position will report to the Sr. Growth Advisor and the Systems and Reporting Manager. Engineering requests will be managed through the Sr. Growth Advisor and all other requests will be managed by the Systems and Reporting Manager.

Job Functions:

  • Maintain a bid sheet of approved supplier list (subcontractors)
  • Secure bids and quotes of comparable subcontractors and engineering equipment/materials in a timely manner
  • Input project management data including project start information and budget information
  • Work within to input client data as necessary
  • Work with Finance department to clearly define project terms and deliverables on standard and nonstandard contracts; ensure fidelity of transfer between Service Delivery and Finance
  • Run reports and analytics on historical activity and performance as requested
  • Support contract review and development with Client Cultivation team
  • Support budget review and development with Service Delivery team
  • Support and complete forms for project setup
  • Prepare budgets-to-actual reports to give pre-alerts and avoid project over-runs

Minimum Job Requirements:

Education and experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree in engineering preferred
  • A minimum of 2-3 year of experience in engineering required
  • Knowledge of basic machine parts and familiarity with engineering-specific language (e.g., tolerances, motors, etc.)
  • Prior project management experience is required
  • Prior experience in purchasing is preferred
  • Experience in manufacturing sector strongly preferred
