Over the past several years, the Edison Centers Directors Council have recognized selected companies with the ECDC Crystal Award. This award recognizes companies that have created significant economic impact in their communities and the state.
By Dan Berry, President and CEO, MAGNET; 2013 Chairman, Edison Centers Directors Council On March 12, 2013, the Edison Centers Directors Council (ECDC) held a legislative briefing for Ohio legislators at the Statehouse Atrium in Columbus. The purpose was to inform legislators about the work of the Ohio Edison Technology Centers (OETC), showcase the economic impact of that work here in Ohio, and to recognize six of Ohio’s most innovative manufacturers with the annual ECDC Crystal Impact Awards. Background: The Ohio Edison Technology Center Program The OETC program was begun in 1984 as one of the state’s very first initiatives to help its manufacturing companies address their survival and growth needs. OETC consists of 285 scientists, engineers, and business experts at six manufacturing assistance centers. Each Center has highly specialized manufacturing, technology, and industry expertise and resources.
